Description
CAT 19 Catamaran Plans – Compact, Comfortable & Easy to Build
The CAT 19 Catamaran is a versatile small cruiser. It is designed for sailors who want comfort, simplicity, and performance. At 19 feet long with a 10-foot beam, it is compact enough to trailer easily. Yet, it offers four berths inside the hulls, plus extra sleeping space under a tent on the bridge deck. This makes it perfect for family trips or weekend getaways.
Construction is straightforward, ideal for home builders. The design uses pre-shaped bottom panels, hog, and bulkheads, following the same proven system as many of our monohulls. Cross beams tie to the hulls, giving stability and flexibility. This setup also keeps trailering and assembly simple.
On the water, the CAT 19 is light, stable, and seaworthy. With a draft of 8 inches (3 feet with the board down), it can explore shallow creeks and sheltered bays. At the same time, it handles coastal cruising with ease. Its 147 sq. ft. sail area delivers lively yet manageable performance for relaxed or adventurous sailing.
Despite its compact size, the CAT 19 is practical. It carries up to 900 lbs. of gear, and the 4’1” headroom adds comfort for longer trips. Whether you’re building your first cruising catamaran or want a small family multihull, the CAT 19 plans offer comfort, simplicity, and big-boat fun in a trailerable package.
