Its generous 7-foot cockpit and 32” beam make it perfect for sea canoeing, extended trips, and paddling with company. We’ve even comfortably fit two adults and a child on a scenic tour of the River Exe—plus camping gear, thanks to its impressive stowage capacity.

Safety is built in with fore and aft buoyancy chambers, while the heavily rounded decks provide ample headroom and quickly shed water in rough conditions. The full-size plans make transferring bulkhead, deck beam, and hull panel shapes to plywood straightforward, ensuring an enjoyable build process.

Requiring just 3 sheets of plywood and around 35 hours to complete, the Dart 16 is surprisingly lightweight for its size—so much so that one person can carry it with ease.
